ABOUT THE WALK
Tours start in early May and finish at the end of September. Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 10:00 to 18:00.
Your interactive experience will begin in the farm yard. You’ll see an empty hive and get a brief overview of the life of the butterfly and bee pollinators -who provide us with a wonderful free pollination service each year (estimated at over €50 million in the Republic of Ireland).
You will then put on your bee suit, light the smoker and walk through the bee flower meadow to see the butterflies and bees in action up close.
We will then proceed to the bee house to watch the busy bees in the observation hive bringing in the pollen and nectar. We can examine the bees through the Perspex.
We end the walk with a visit to the honey house where you’ll sample the fresh natural honey.
There’s always time for selfies!
